I have a betta and some rosy red minnows, and I have to say the minnows are easier than the betta, as weird as that sounds

I watched your video on bettas and learned a lot from it after my first betta died. I got a second and he was very active, very responsive to me, I really enjoyed him. Over time he got a little slower and his color would change. He recently died and I’d only had him for maybe 6-8 months.. I’m hoping he was just old. He did have a tank mate, an upside catfish, they did really well together. I also had those leaves they like, a heater.. all the good stuff. He seemed healthy and happy.

I am starting off with gold fish and tropical fish later. I have done loads of research into PH . Next month I am buying a starting low maintenance fish tank for goldfish. I have been doing loads of study and research about algae and keeping the water running and active. So my choice of goldfish very easy to maintain. Shubunkins , fancy goldfish. And comets. And smaller fresh water fish.

Hi, I was wondering if the rimless tanks have a downside compared with the old fashion tanks that have the rim? I would think that the waterline would Show a hard water line that would be hard to keep clean.

I've had 2 synodontis catfish in my 20+ years keeping fish ( a lace fine and a feather fin). Talk about bullet proof. I've had events that have killed almost the entire tank and these things survive. My lace fin lived over 13 years and my featherfin is still going strong. They can be shy but once they get to know you they seem to enjoy attention. But don't expect them to show out for company. Both got up to five inches but have never attacked any of my smaller fish.

20gallons for danios seem to be a little small. i got told to keep them in 50gallons at least (200litres). I have 10 Danios in my 180litre tank and I think that this is just enough for them

Personally, I don't think Bettas are for beginners. More like intermediate people
1. they cost a lot, I got a 10 gallon for my bettabwith driftwood, heater, filter, etc. And it costed 179$.
2. They have a few needs most people aren't willing to take, such as feeding them bloodworms

In the UK you’re quizzed about everything (at least in all the shops near me). “What size is your tank?”, “How long has it been running?”, “How heavily stocked is it?”. Sometimes I come out sweating like I’ve been through an interrogation. I guess it’s good though.
