I cannot sleep in silence and always use my white noise machine to help me nod off. However, since my girlfriend isn’t fond of it, I decided to build an aquarium to provide a natural, soothing background sound that we both can (hopefully) enjoy.

I use 3 noise machines… they are called a fan, a cool mist humidifier and an air purifier. If one isn't going then I can't sleep.

Mystery snails love diatom algae. I added 4 to a 15 gallon tank overcome by diatom and they ate it all in 2 days.
So jealous, i want chili's in my aquarium and no local aquarium stores can get them right now. I named my ramshorn Toro cause of his horns haha 😅 were about to place an aquarium i bought used with a stand. Would love chilis in it or green rasboras but their hard to find in the states without getting them shipped.

i got 2 mekhong crabs and i can tell u they will attack snail and cut your grass but not cleaning the aquarium, maybe they will eat couple rocks xD
I had a shrimp tank in my bedroom. Unless it was filled to the brim the filter would make a splashing noise that drove me mad. (I cant sleep when theres noise) and there was always a fishy smell in my room (not bcos the tank was dirty its just the ambient aquarium smell you would have with any aquarium). I did love getting back from work or taking a rest and just sitting by the tank to watch my shrimp graze though, just some tjings to co sider for others wanting a tank in your room.

The sound of water drips is one of the most annoying sounds to my ears. So I was genuinely happy to see someone else enjoying this sound.
I’m going to pray that you find a new gf. I let my husband use white noise to sleep too. It takes me longer to fall asleep but it’s worth it for him
